It is a pre-requisite for some courses (Physics, ICT, Accountancy, Mathematics, Statistics), and if you are considering a career in the area of mathematics, Further Mathematics at A Level would certainly be advantageous. You will have the opportunity to develop decision making and problem solving skills, transferable to any career path you choose to follow.
Mathematics is an AS or A Level qualification.
There are 6 modules taught over the two academic years: 4 Core, 1 Statistics and 1 Mechanics.
Further Mathematics is an AS or A Level qualification, which both broadens and deepens the mathematics covered in A Level Mathematics. Further Mathematics is taken alongside an AS or A Level in Mathematics.
There are 12 modules taught over the two academic years: 4 Core, 3 Statistics and 3 Mechanics, 3 Further Pure Mathematics.
