Key Stage 3 - Years 7-9

Throughout KS3, pupils are exposed to a wide range of activities during lesson time designed to cover the national curriculum outcomes. These activities include: Athletics, aerobics, badminton, basketball, cricket, dance, field hockey, football, gymnastics, health related exercise, netball, rounders, rugby, softball and tennis.

Key Stage 4 - Years 10-11

GCSE course - Students who demonstrate a strong aptitude for PE in Key Stage 3 are chosen to study the GCSE Course. This is studied over 2 years in which pupils are assessed across 3 sports and produce a controlled piece of written work. The course culminates in two written theory exams, which are worth 60% of the final grade.

BTEC Sport Level 2 – The BTEC comprises of 4 units, which are completed over the course of two years. Two units are mandatory, one being a written exam surrounding fitness for sport and exercise, and the other being an assessment of practical sports performance.
