“The true sign of intelligence is not knowledge but imagination”

At St. George’s Science is taught by 12 different teachers working within purpose designed Science laboratories.  These facilities allow pupils to understand that science is an experimental Science and the best way to learn is to ask questions. We teach pupils not to just learn the answer but pose questions. From year 7 onwards, we focus on pupils analysing data and writing their answers rationally using evidence.

Science is taught by subject specialist teachers; teachers meet regularly to share good practice and exchange ideas. External subject specialists are used to deliver sessions that enable all Science teachers to keep abreast of changes and better equip us in our teaching practices.
