St. George's Catholic School

Celebrating an Outstanding Year of Success at St George's

As we celebrate St George's 70th anniversary, we are delighted to reflect on another year of exceptional achievement across our school community. From outstanding GCSE results to record-breaking Sixth Form outcomes, our students have once again demonstrated the dedication, resilience and ambition that make St George's such a special place to learn and grow.

GCSE Success by the Numbers 2026

📊 80% of students achieved a Grade 4 or above in both English and Mathematics
🎯 67% achieved a strong pass (Grade 5+) across their subjects
⭐ 5.4 Attainment 8 Score, meaning students averaged above a strong pass in every subject
🏆 1 student achieved Grade 9s in all 10 GCSE subjects
🌟 7 students achieved an average grade above 8 across all subjects

These results place St George's comfortably above national averages and reflect the high aspirations we hold for every student. Our Attainment 8 score remained consistently strong at 5.4, demonstrating that students across the school are achieving well across a broad and balanced curriculum.

Alongside these impressive headline figures, there were some truly remarkable individual achievements. Yara Khoueiry achieved an extraordinary clean sweep of Grade 9s in all ten of her GCSE subjects. We also congratulate Christina Dawit, Matthew Quiambo, Annabella Amponsah-Asamoah, Anaida Goes, Kacper Kluza, Oliver Salmistraro and Frederico Seth, all of whom achieved an average grade above 8 across their subjects.

These achievements are the result of countless hours of hard work and determination from our students, supported every step of the way by dedicated staff and families. We thank our parents and carers for their continued partnership and support in helping our young people thrive.

A Record-Breaking Sixth Form

Our Sixth Form students have also enjoyed another exceptional year of success, marking what is undoubtedly one of our strongest sets of A Level and BTEC results to date.

🎓 158 students graduated from Sixth Form
🏛️ 142 students progressed to university
📈 20% increase in BTEC Distinction and Distinction grades*
⭐ 25% of all A Level grades achieved were A-A*
👏 More than 50% of all A Level grades were A-B*
🎯 Over 30% of students are progressing to Russell Group universities

As we celebrate seventy years of St George's, it is remarkable to reflect on how far our Sixth Form has come. In 2013, the school's first graduating cohort consisted of just 50 students. This year, 158 students have successfully completed their studies, with 142 progressing on to university and many others moving into exciting apprenticeships and career pathways.

The outstanding results achieved this summer have opened doors to an impressive range of destinations. Hana Khoueiry achieved AAAA and will go on to study Economics at the University of Cambridge. Maria Kolesnyk achieved AAA and is progressing through the Cambridge reconsideration process while also holding an offer to study Politics and International Relations at the University of Bristol. Reenad Fayez achieved AAA and will study Medicine at the University of Birmingham, while Abigail Entsir achieved AAA and will also pursue a career in Medicine.

Across the cohort, students will be studying a diverse range of subjects including Law, History, English Literature, Biomedical Sciences, Aeronautical Engineering and Zoology, demonstrating both the breadth of opportunity available to our students and the ambition with which they approach their futures.

Looking Ahead with Pride

While we are incredibly proud of the grades achieved, what makes us most proud is the calibre of the young people behind them. These results tell a story of perseverance, character, compassion and aspiration. They represent students who have embraced opportunities, overcome challenges and grown into confident young adults ready to make their mark on the world.

As another cohort leaves St George's, we do so with immense pride and gratitude. We congratulate every student on their achievements and thank our staff, parents and carers whose unwavering support has helped make these successes possible.

It is a privilege to see so many happy, confident and successful young people take the next step in their journey, and we wish them every blessing and success for the future.
